Increase Adsense Revenue: Google Adsense Revenue Sharing Sites For Backlinking

It has been under 6 months since I joined Google as an affiliate, during which time I have built up a respectable second income here on hubpages; most of this income comes from AdSense whilst Amazon is very much a secondary source. Publishing online content is a steep learning curve for those that wish to successfully monetise their efforts, it certainly requires a lot of smart working and at times purely hard working as well as a whole lot of patience. As I approach my 200th page of content here on hubpages (this is hub number 198), I have finally begun to develop and implement a clear strategy for success with AdSense which involves significant amounts of time but has shown me enough to suggest that it is one which will pay dividends for the long term. This AdSense strategy involves multiple sites all of which can generate you plenty of extra AdSense revenue whilst enhancing the performance of your primary content.

My 'Bookmarker' Adsense Strategy

The strategy is entirely simple and is in fact nothing more than you should expect to have to do to become financially successful on hubpages, and basically involves numerous means of 'backlinking'. Please note that this strategy assumes that you already know how to optimise your hubpages for search engine traffic (SEO) and using keywords, otherwise you should research these things first; it also assumes that you know what a dofollow backlink is. This method works equally well with articles published on other good self publishing sites including Squidoo, InfoBarrell, Ehow, and HowToDoThings.

  • Write your keyword optimised, informative, presentable hubpage (Primary Content).
  • Submit a bookmark of your hubpage to as many revenue sharing bookmark sites as you can, e.g. SheToldMe, Xomba, and RedGage. Use alternative search terms and in the description if possible - never copy and paste parts of your original hubpage (Secondary Content)
  • Have a look on the first few pages of google for any additional possible dofollow backlinks to your content, using your primary keyword phrases. Additional backlinks such as this do not pay but can be invaluable.
  • Write a shorter yet unique version of the primary article on your personal blog, with a backlink from the post to your primary content (Secondary Content)
  • Submit a bookmark of your blog post to exactly the same bookmarking sites, again using any possible new keywords and search phrases (Secondary Content)
  • - THIS STRATEGY IS ONGOING AND GROWING, IT WILL DEVELOP WITH TIME!

My Traffic Growth In 6 Months

This hubber does 0-6000 in under 6 months! Impressive?

It may not seem advanced, it may seem difficult and time consuming, but so many people have asked how I am gaining views at such a rapid pace - and this is how. I still have so far to go, so many more backlinks to build, so much more time to find and utilise. I have no secrets, nothing that many of you don't know already, I just backlink in places which also directly boost my AdSense earnings. Is this strategy working for me? The picture above suggests so and I expect that the curve will keep on heading north over the next 6 months - the answer is yes. I am still only using 4 bookmarking sites, and haven't yet finished using them, there are also another dozen or so to go! If you wanted to take your backlinking one step further then you could even bookmark your bookmarks!

SheToldMe.com

SheToldMe was the first Adsense Revenue sharing site that I used, and with great success. I soon found, following a Google page rank update, that my hubs bookmarked through SheToldMe were performing better in the search engines than my hubs which were not. This initial success prompted me to bookmark every single one of my hubs, and the improvements in my traffic have been clear for me to see. SheToldMe gives you 100% of the Ad Impressions attributed to each of your bookmarks, a scheme which is now making me a respectable $5-$10 extra per week. Remember that these bookmarks are 'dofollow' so each bookmark benefits the page of content that you link to, the direct earnings and 50 visits a day from these posts are nothing but an added bonus. All of my hubs are now bookmarked on this site.

Xomba.com

My success with SheToldMe led me to explore other bookmarking sites which shared Adsense revenue, and this led me to discovering a number of sites including this one - Xomba.com. It works just like SheToldMe but has a greater 'page rank' and more traffic because it is a lot more established. It is still early days for me with Xomba and I have only bookmarked 20 of my hubs, however I am already seeing AdSense revenues from them and my bookmarks are of course 'dofollow'. Traffic to my hubpages, my primary content, has not yet been evident but the most important thing for you to consider is the positive effects on the search engine placement. I suspect that my direct AdSense Revenue from Xomba will eventually far exceed the $5-$10 a week that I generate from SheToldMe despite it only sharing 50% of ad impressions with it's users.

Snipsly.com

Snipsly is another AdSense Revenue sharing bookmarking site, this one paying a generous 80% of impressions with its users. I am currently building up my portfolio of back-links on Snipsly and it is one which will benefit you more in the long term rather than the short, purely because it is yet to be truly picked up by the Google monster. I haven't seen much in the way of revenue or traffic yet from Snipsly, yet I know that bookmarking now will see rewards in the future. I can fully recommend Snipsly for it's easy to navigate wordpress theme, in fact I believe that it can outgrow any of the other sites listed on here. To find out more about Snipsly.com, check out my dedicated article 'Snipsly.com - Make Money From Your Bookmarks'.

YouSayToo.com

YouSayToo.com is one which is best used with your personal blog, and basically links your blog to it's website. Every time you publish a blog post it replicates and backlinks it to their site, giving you a 50% share of AdSense Revenue as well as giving your blog numerous dofollow backlinks. The trick for hubbers is to use their blog posts to link their hubs, with each blog post then being linked on your YouSayToo.com account. This one is entirely automated, if only they were all made like this!

List Of Other Revenue Sharing Backlinking Sites

I have so many hubpages to retrospectively bookmark, and so little time at the moment, that I haven't even signed up to these sites just yet. The potential for improvements in search engine placement and increased AdSense revenue is huge when considering just how many variants of each bookmark I can create, each counting as a dofollow backlink. It is a slow but sure process that I will complete - and each six months on hubpages will see a new hub updating you on my progress. It was little over 3 months ago that Ryan Hupfer interviewed me and published a blog post charting rise to 1000 page views per day, now that he is gone it is left for me to tell you all myself. I hope that you enjoyed this light piece, I will leave you with that list of backlinking sites now!

Non-Revenue Sharing Sites

Remember that it is the dofollow backlink which is most important, AdSense is just a bonus, so you should take advantage of all available free backlinks. These sites offer free backlinks to your own content, all dofollow, but do not share any AdSense impressions with you:-

@bogerk - Keep writing, its a numbers game. I get about 222 page views every 15 minutes now. Also, you know that your page views count towards that 222 page views right? It takes anything up to 6 months for a hubpage to mature, patience is necessary.

Hello. Great post! I have just started hubpages with 10 posts and 222 page views. While I wouldn't expect to be a millionaire at this point, I wonder how long it takes to see any revenue? So far both Adsense and Amazon have earned me $0.00 - I have bookmarked on a couple of sites and posted on Facebook. Any idea how long it takes till a little money starts rolling in? I plan to keep writing, I would just like to see some results. Even meager would do.

This made me crazy initially. But going through all the comments and reading the article twice has made me realize that I have been missing this trick for last couple of years. Now!! Aah, found it! - have just spent quite a while scrutinizing this page after having searched on Google.co.za for "duplicate content blogs redgage yousaytoo" (and this hub coming up on page one of Google.co.za) - and couldn't find it here for a while - but it's in lleane's comment above. I haven't got an answer though - what I want to know is, is it your entire blog post (like on a Blogger blog) that uploads/imports to RedGage and YouSayToo, and if so, isn't that duplicate content? - I worry about just the RedGage or YouSayToo blog being indexed by Google and not my own blogpost - the ones on my Blogger blog are already indexed, and I don't want to lose that. What are the risks? And does duplicate content also affect Adsense policies and TOS?

Thank you for your response. I will play around with blogger a bit myself. One point of clarification. You said "with your hubpages URL in the body of the text." Did you mean with anchor text pointing back to your hubpage? I would rather have that than the URL. Thanks.

ryankett profile image

ryankett Hub Author 18 months ago

@Sylvie Strong - Using a blogger blog is/will be part of my wider strategy. And the reason is simple. You can submit the RSS feed for your blog to hundreds of automated sites, which replicate your posts, many of which are dofollow. Post short blog posts with your hubpages URL in the body of the text, and you can distribute that backlink across dozens or hundreds of sites. Once I have done this a little more seriously, I will write a hubpage which discusses the effects on my SERPS and earnings.

Teresa Schultz profile image

Teresa Schultz Level 4 Commenter 18 months ago

Found this by following a link from your backlinking from page rank 3, 4, and 5 page rank bookmarking sites - this one is yet another very helpful hub of yours! Thanks!

Sylvie Strong profile image

Sylvie Strong 19 months ago

This is a very informative hub. I have not followed a bookmarking strategy for my hubs yet and this is very helpful. There is a tension between wanting to create new hubs and wanting to create links to the ones you already have. One question, I do not have a personal blog. I am aware of how to get a new domain name and host a Wordpress blog on it, but I'm not sure I want to bother. I wonder if I should follow your strategy by opening a blog on Blogger or Wordpress. Not very valuable real estate, but Blogger is a high authority site...it might even make your strategy better? Since I need the blog only to effect your backlinking strategy, it seems that I shouldn't care about having my own domain name. Thoughts? I appreciate your input.

Wow, ryankett, no wonder everyone talks about your Hubs; this one is awesome and just exactly what I needed. Thank you so much for outlining a clear, step-by-step plan for promoting my content!

As wonderful a job as you have done, I am unclear on one thing (which I'm sure is a result of my lack of experience, and NOT your writing). Can you clarify what you mean by:

"Have a look on the first few pages of google for any additional possible dofollow backlinks to your content, using your primary keyword phrases. Additional backlinks such as this do not pay but can be invaluable."

Are you suggesting that if there's a relevant place that will allow me to link my stuff from the front pages of Google that I do that? (Like leaving an answer on ask.com or something like that)?

Thank you so much! And congratulations on a million views!! That is truly awesome.

But I did read where you advised not to copy and paste from my original hub as the summary part on shetoldme but instead to write an original summary. Maybe this is my mistake? Whatever it is .. thankyou for sharing. I think I will get a notebook to list the sites you suggest and slowly learn how to incorporate these backlinks into my work. Im up to hub 50 and 51 and thought I was smart just learning how to link each hub to each other.

When I read your notes that it has taken you time to learn how to do this, I felt better, because I know that I am learning slowly about how to write, what I want to write and still need to learn how to present my pages a bit better.

This is the next step on and looks a bit daunting from here, but if I learn it bit by bit, Im sure I can make something work.

Thankyou - and merry xmas

Can You Give Me A Example Please It Is Hard To Understand And 1 Thing For You That You Are Very Talented.

Example Like Same Post You Have Do In Hub Pages And Some In Xomba I Will Read And Try To Understand What Changes You Have Made.

@pichukiller - I am not certain what it is that you are asking, but I would not recommend copy and pasting your hubpages across to other sites such as Xomba. When bookmarking on Xomba you need to write a 50 word description, I suggest writing a fresh description (so a few new sentences).

@fasthardmoneynyc - Firstly, if you expect 'fasthardmoney' then you are in the wrong game. I suggest that you try prostitution. Adsense is a massive google owned program which extends across the web, the bookmarks display ads just like hubpages; and you are given a share of the impressions in exactly the same way.

@everybody else - thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment, i hope that you all manage to increase your traffic and earnings!

I am confused. Explain what is google adsense revenue sharing sites, not sure how this works.

I am not registered yet with google adsense but lets say I do for hubpages does this mean I will make revenue from clicks on my hubpage and also make adsense revenue from adsense revenue sharing sites if so how is this possible since all i am doing is bookmarking my hubpage site and creating content there as well at lets say........... "she told me".

How do adsense revenue sharing sites work do not understand them, are they not just a place to bookmark a site.

Great Hub -- as a relative newbie your info is, for me, tremendously helpful and your style of presenting the whole process is super. Thanks so much - and Happy New Year!

Ryan, another great hub. I'm quite new to this, and have been struggling to get my hubs noticed by anyone. 2 of them I wrote with seo in mind - but getting backlinks had me stumped.

I'll be trying your suggestions in future.

Thanks again

Ryan, I just signed up for HubPages yesterday, so I feel pretty lucky that I found your Hub this fast. This information is all news to me and I'll give it a try. For me the tricky part is understanding what is considered as duplicate content and what isn't. Looks like you have steered me in the right direction to avoid making that costly mistake.

Thanks and I hope you have a wonderful holiday.

Glowing Testimonial Time:

I tried the technique you outlined above.

First I did a Hub and followed your advice.

That Hub was published on the 19th, and on the 22nd, it is my third highest traffic Hub.

I published another Hub and DIDN'T use the technique and it is my 26th highest trafficked Hub.

So, Hub published using Ryan's technique...number 3

Hub published WITHOUT Ryan's technique...number 26.

Ryan - thank you very much. I started adding my bookmarks on Snipsly and realized I was doing something wrong. Thanks for the tip - it helped tremendously!!

ryankett profile image

ryankett Hub Author 2 years ago

@Cheri Schultz - Both Xomba and Snipsly can be used in the same way as SheToldMe.com. The only difference with Snipsly is that you need to insert the link into the text yourself. You can write new articles on snipsly, but I only use it for bookmarks with a few quick sentences. Hope that helps.

@viryabo - glad that i could help, im sure that you will see the long term benefits :)

Thanks for the response and advice Ryankett. Makes so much sense to me now - writing short new text and using related keywords.

So back to backlinking i go.

Cheers.

Cheri Schultz profile image

Cheri Schultz 2 years ago

Ryan - thank for all the great information. I have a question, when you are doing new articles on Snipsly - you have to make them unique and they cannot be dups of your Hubs - I am thinking correctly. Because Shetoldme - just links back to Hubpages where snipsly is for new articles?? Is Xomba like shetoldme? I have placed all my hubs on shetoldme. Thank you very much.

ryankett profile image

ryankett Hub Author 2 years ago

@pddm67 - glad that it helped.

ryankett profile image

ryankett Hub Author 2 years ago

@viryabo - if you have done it already it doesn't matter, do dont change those 20 hubs, just try and do new text for the rest. It does take a little longer, but it ensures that the search engine traffic you gain is that which you wouldnt have found you otherwise. It allows you to use new keywords, meaning that you are competing for new clicks. By using the same text, your bookmarks and hubs are found by the same people doing the same search phrases ;)

viryabo profile image

viryabo Level 3 Commenter 2 years ago

I have started backlinking as you have spoken about this extensively also in the forums.

From reading this great hub, i realised a mistake i've been making. Copying & pasting about 3 to 4 sentences from my hub content. Do i go back and alter? i've managed to do about 20 of my 134 hubs, and its such a chore. Going over those 20 again is like a nightmare!

Great info, Ryan. I've got about half of my hubs submitted to shetoldme, all to Xomba, and Snipsly is on the to-do list next - it does take a long time, I can't imagine having to do 200!!

BTW, have you seen my latest post on your "WTF! Xomba" thread in the forum? I received an email from Xomba in response to a question and was advised that their links are, and have always been, nofollow.

Cheers Ryan. I like Redgage and Xomba. I've been pondering on using Snipsly. Now that you noted we get 80%, I might just go and sign up. If you have a referral link, let me know and I'll use it.

Thanks Ryankett for a prompt answer, appreciate your openness in helping others. I agree but this circle of links does have potential, the interlinking i am sure will show immediate results. I have a couple of my hubs which are high paid keywords but no linking will surely experiment and see how it fares. Will keep you posted.

ryankett profile image

ryankett Hub Author 2 years ago

@charenjeet - that really depends on how many sites you use, I tend to do mine in blocks of 10 hubs. It does take quite some time to do 10 hubs at 6 or 7 different sites, I still havent finished all of my hubs! It is a never ending circle, the more you do the better your earnings and traffic! It can take eternity! But the more you do, the more you will be earning in the long term.

Ryankett, this hub is like i found the hidden treasure. I have known some of the elements in this hub but the interconnectivity does make total sense. I have one personal question How long does it take for one hub to do the entire procedure? Ya before I forget another incredible hub and have bookmarked.

@Wag The Dog - glad you enjoyed it.

@janiek13 - ummm, tips for SheToldMe, well the only one I can think of is to set up a second account. When you post a scoop you have the chance to rate up your scoop (2 points) and you can then rate it up with your second account (2 points). This gives you the 4 points needed for promotion to the front page. Remember though that the traffic through SheToldMe, and the adsense clicks, are not the most important thing. The important thing is building up the dofollow backlinks to move your hubpage up the google search results. The earnings and traffic are nothing but an added bonus.

@sabreblade - glad that you enjoyed it, you can hold my hand whenever you want, hehe.

@Hello,hello - I recommend searching for the word 'backlinks' and finding a hub by Darkside, this will teach you everything that you need to know. Learning backlinks will result in my strategy making a lot more sense to you.

I am so glad I get emails advising me of your new hubs. It is just what I need. Thank you for your hub and these great informations.

I have written 190 hubs and will get 200 hubs for my Christmas present but have to increase the clicks on my hubs. My question is which will set your screaming; what is a backlink and how do I do it? I am sorry but I have haven't got a lot of computer knowledge but love to learn.

Finally, an answer to my question! Thank you, Ryan. I have been doing a little of this, but not nearly enough. I will make this my project to start this weekend. Btw, I have been on shetold me for quite awhile, I wondered if you could give me a few tips to get page views on there? Thanks, again!

Wag The Dog 2 years ago

This hub is awesome! Thank you for the tips and leads. I wish I had more time to follow threw with it tonight, but I am too tired to do so. Instead, I bookmarked it for later. So I will be back. Thanks again for the info, and I rated it UP. Good luck and God bless. Wag

Cheers for stopping by waynet, it is a strategy that can never be 'finished' so to speak, with 200 hubs published I am hours and hours behind. It is better suited to somebody starting from scratch really, who follows this strict procedure from the start! Thanks for stopping by!

waynet profile image

waynet Level 4 Commenter 2 years ago

That is a time consuming strategy that will indeed pay off for the long term, I like the idea about bookmarking your bookmarks as I have done this alot all over xomba and will start to do with others, will just have to manage my time a bit better to include this strategy into my daily online routines.

Well done on your traffic!
